of 806 Nassau Street, died as 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon
in a Staunton hospital, following an extended illness. He was a native
of Augusta County, son of the late John and Barbara Ellen Faber
Moneymaker, and was 64 years of age. He married Miss Rosa
Martin, of Nelson County, who died March 16, 1939. Surviving
are four daughters, Mrs. Carrie Gillum and Mrs. Sally Durrette,
of this city, and Mrs. Mabel Jarrell and Mrs. Lutie Moon,
both residents of Alexandria, Benjamin Shirley Moneymaker,
of Earlysville, and James J. and Henry Moneymaker, both of this
city. There are 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Moneymaker
also leaves one sister, Miss Bertha Moneymaker, of Crozet, and a
brother, Bailey Moneymaker, of Keene. The funeral will be
held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the M. C. Hill Funeral Home,
the service to be conducted by the Rev. Eslie R. Phillips,
interim pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Riverview
Cemtery.
